The Aston Villa trio of Marvelous Nakamba, Bertrand Traore and EzriKonsa will miss the visit of struggling Watford in the Premier League this weekend according to Steven Gerrard. Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard gave the update on his team ahead of the Hornets game during a press conference on Friday. According to him, all the other players are in contention except the abovementioned trio.

Villa boss Gerrard told reporters that nothing has changed from the injury update he gave last week ahead of the Premier League trip to face Newcastle United at St. James Park and that Nakamba, Konsa and Traore will miss the Watford game. His team produced one of worst performances under his watch against the Magpies as they lost 1-0 courtesy the first half free-kick from Englishman Kieran Trippier who joined Newcastle United from Spanish La Liga champions Atletico Madrid at the start of January.

Steven Gerrard would be hoping his team can bounce back from the timid display at Newcastle United on Sunday. Gerrard and his Villa players are currently on a run of two games without a win in the league ahead of the Watford game. As a matter of fact, Aston Villa are presently going through a lean spell with one win in the last seven games in all competitions (one win in the last six league games). The former European champions have not won any of their last two matched which was in the league since the 1-0 away win over Everton thanks to the first half header from Argentine playmaker Emiliano Buendia.

The win over Everton represents the onlyVilla success from the last six Premier League games, but they are massive favouritesfor the Watford game. Watford have improved defensively under new manager Roy Hodgson, but they are yet to score in three matches under his watch.
