STEVEN GERRARD LINKED TO ARSENAL GIG

Several coaches have been linked with the Arsenal job. With the achievements of Frank Lampard at Chelsea with his youthful squad, there have calls by some Arsenal fans and pundit for Steven Gerrard to lead the team at the Emirates. Another section claim a Liverpool legend should not be the one to replace Unai Emery.

Arsenal fans keep calling for the sack of Emery. Gerrard is in his second year of professional football management with Rangers where he has been decent. Just like Brendan Rodgers exited Celtic after some successes to take over at Leicester City, Gerrard is expected to follow the route for the Arsenal job.

Aside Gerrard, Pep Guardiola’s assistant Mikel Arteta has also been linked with the gig. It is expected that the former club star has developed under one of the best managers and is now ready for the gig proper. He was linked and reportedly interviewed for the role but the framework was discouraging. Now he is believed would be better equipped and prepared to lead the setup successfully from the Arsene Wenger era.

If Klopp decides to end his Liverpool stay in a few years, Gerrard would be better prepared to take over but for now he is regularly linked with the Arsenal seat. His team recently defeated Porto 2-0 in the Europa League, and are fighting closely with Celtic in the Scottish top flight. Gerrard is happy with the performance of his team and his coaching career, maybe it’s a little too soon for a top coaching job?
